- Strongest and most conformable of the Rolyan splinting material
- Easily conforms to surface contours and detail
- High conformability and low resistance to stretch
- Made of non-toxic, latex-free, and radiolucent material
Low Stretch, Highly Conformable
Polyform Thermoplastic sheets are the only Rolyan splinting material with minimum resistance to stretch and maximum rigidity when cool. That means clinicians have ultimate control when forming a detailed splint. The thermoplastic material stretches easily when heated and forms the correct shape with gentle pressure. When the sheet cools, clinicians can have confidence the intricate molding will provide a precise fit for increased comfort and fewer pressure areas.
Custom-Molded Sheets
The Polyform splinting material can be used to form medium custom-molded sheets for fingers, wrists, elbow, or foot drop splints, as well as adaptive equipment. The material can be reheated and reshaped, however, it will not return to its original shape. A temporary bond can be created by pinching the heated material together while a permanent bond can be achieved by scrubbing off the coating or removing it with a bond solvent.
Strong Attributes
Clinicians can create intricate molding to fit a variety of patient needs. The thermoplastic sheets are available in a standard 1/8" (3.2 mm) thickness or a lighter 1/16" (1.6 mm) sheet thickness for lightweight comfort with a high degree of rigidity. As the strongest Rolyan splint material with a rigidity score of 137.7 kpsi*, the Polyform material resists deformities such as dents, cracks, and breaks when cooled.

Key Material Benefits
Polyform is the only Rolyan splint material with minimum resistance to stretch and maximum rigidity when cool. This unique characteristic allows the clinician to form a detailed splint with the confidence that the intricate molding will not deform when used.
Handling
Resistance to stretch: Minimum
Stretches easily when heated and needs soft, gentle pressure to form a splint. Be careful not to allow material to stretch too much.
Conformability: Maximum
Easily conforms to surface contours and detail, reducing time spent fabricating splint, and provides a precise fit for increased comfort and fewer pressure areas. High degree of drape.
Memory: Minimum
Ability to be reheated and reshaped but will not return to original shape.
Bonding: Coated
Create a temporary bond by pinching together heated material; however, it will come apart when cooled. Form a permanent bond by scrubbing off the coating or removing it with a bond solvent.
